Tristan – The Spice of Five (2019) [FLAC 24bit/44,1kHz]

At Tristan, jazz, fusion and soul melt together effortlessly. A band that can compete internationally with big names from these genres. It is high time that a larger audience became acquainted with this musical gem, which for once does not come from England or the United States but “just” from the Netherlands. The music of Tristan can best be described as ‘feel-good vintage Acid Jazz music’ with the energy, vibe and sound of today, performed by some of the best pop / jazz musicians from Europe. Tristan is reminiscent of bands such as Tower of Power, Snarky Puppy and classical acid jazz acts such as Incognito and the Brand New Heavies. For all of them it is all about the ” high-energy grooves ”. But the quality of arrangements and compositions make Tristan a unique formation. Both the debut album ‘Full Power’ (2014), ‘2nd Phase’ (2015) and ‘Lifestyle’ (2016) unleashed an international chain reaction to positive response, reviews and airplay. Both ‘Full Power’ and the sequel ‘2nd Phase’ achieved the number 1 position in the English UK Soulcharts. Thanks in part to this success, the band toured the world: Japan, Poland, Great Britain, Germany, Romania, Morocco to name just a few. In 2017 the CD ‘Live in Concert’ was published worldwide. A logical continuation for the band is ” The Spice of Five ”, the already fifth album by Tristan! Recorded with only the ‘5-piece core’ of the band. Pure, personal, energetic and full of fresh new compositions s, but without losing the ‘Tristan sound’. Apart from this, the band in this line-up also exists for five years. Enough reasons for a party!
