Thibault Noally is a recognized name in the international baroque scene he is an actor for many years, both as a solo violin Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble Marc Minkowski, with the Concerto Köln, Pulcinella or all Matheus. This first solo album, highly anticipated, put in the spotlight in a directory that he knows how to translate all the subtleties works for solo violin Baroque Germany.

This period, in which the violin reaches the perfection of its form and its sound is a treasure for all researchers whose masterpiece Sonatas and Partitas of JS Bach part (here the incredible Chaconne). Throughout the disc, we (re) discover Thomas Baltzar (1631-1663) whose work requires a mastery, precise and unfailing virtuosity; Vilsmayer Johann Joseph (1663-1722), Franz Biber (1644-1704) featured the Salzburg court, Johann Paul von Westhoff (1656-1705) co-Bach in Weimar, Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767), whose most famous pages are known.

A look at the soul of the German Baroque, through its diversity, finesse, and its evolution over the 17th and 18th centuries, and the song of the king instrument: the violin.

Thibault plays with Zen-like calmness, and ends phrases and sections exquisitely…In his stylish performance of the Bach he plays thoughtfully, choosing sensible rather than showy tempi and always shaping his phrases with delicate rubato…We look forward to more from this promising violinist. — Gramophone, March 2014
