UPSIDE DOWN AND IN BETWEEN opens up distinct multi-layered worlds of sound, explored by six individual and unique musicians in alternating line-ups. Within the compositionally created framework, each instrumentalist has plenty of space for suspenseful improvisations and spontaneous interactions.
In the four miniatures, the musicians even engage in entirely free musical dialogues. Unique and personal moments created in the music of Magnus Mehl and six soloists merge into one collective of sound in a fluent and impressive manner.
The ensemble seamlessly moves between refined compositions and clever as well as creative improvisations; between extreme denseness and bubbly transparency; between lyrical melancholy and catchy grooves.
