These Farmhouse Sessions bring together acoustic versions of a lot of the most important numbers in the High Valley repertoire. The Canadian duo, hailing from La Crete in Alberta probably meant to draw attention to the raw power of their writing. And so Brad et Curtis Rempel have returned to their essential roots. It’s country music that rests on a deft blending of bluegrass with pop. For sure, that’s hardly stuff to set the barn on fire: but these songs and their sheer sincerity have enough about them to set listeners dreaming of riding a thoroughbred bareback over the prairies…
