With their debut “Tales from eternal Dusk”, the guys from Dark Fortress from Bavarian Landshut have outdone themselves. The 11 songs on their CD line up in their perfection and show the listeners that there are other bands that can do Black Metal like Dissection, Naglfar or Dimmu Borgir of the older school. They do not sound like a cheap copy or copy of this known scene sizes. They convey the very feeling that is supposed to be conveyed with this music. Without commercial and other superfluous peculiarities, “Tales from eternal Dusk” should appeal to everyone who likes rough, yet very melodic Black Metal. In short, Dark Fortress is just that kind of band that needs the sucked-out, fully commercialized Black Metal scene. The disc was well produced and you know that Dark Fortress is a band that just stands behind their roots and does not go along with the typical Black Metal hype move. For my part, I can only say one last thing. This re-issue original album and bonus CD.
