Chui’s sixth album expands their horizons and concludes a ten-year discographic transformation from a small jazz quartet to an institution that is sovereignly created on the fringes of contemporary Croatian popular music. In other words – Chui’s music is no longer just for hipsters.After ten years of discography and five albums, the Chui quartet completed its transformation from an enthusiastic side project to the establishment of its fusion expression into an unavoidable category of top Croatian music with the Zagreb – Berlin album. The double album Zagreb – Berlin is not a continuation of their acclaimed achievement From the Captain’s Diary, but – quite unexpectedly – a new branch of research music with various stylistic tools, primarily jazz, but also rock, electronics, orchestration appropriate to visual experiences and the inevitable noise.
