Portuguese Fado singer-songwriter Ana Moura announced her seventh studio album “Casa Guilhermina” would be released on November 11, 2022. It is her first album in eight years since the 2015 album “Moura”. The album named after Ana Moura’s Angolan Grandmother and features collaborators include Afro electro producer Pedro Da Lindha, contemporary Portuguese artist Pedro Mafama, and long-standing Prince guitarist Mike Scott.
From the album, she released a new song “Arraial Triste” on October 21, 2022.
The song makes reference to rustic Portuguese national festivals that celebrate saints’ days.
It was written by Ana Moura and Pedro Mafama. Produced by Pedro Mafama and João Bessa.“Since I was young, I used to go to these festivals every year,” Ana Moura said of the song. “The song is a description of desencontro, which is when people are unable to meet despite wanting to. I’m saying that I’m on the streets walking at night in the middle of the festival, but still feeling alone. I cannot find him because he’s somewhere else in the festival. But at the same time, I say, ‘Tonight, I will dance with myself under the full moon.’”
