The love for Brazilian music runs like a red thread through Wolfgang Lackerschmid’s musical career. Whether in his time in the USA or on tours through Europe, great names of Brazil and Latin jazz such as Romero Lubambo, Claudio Roditi and Paquito D’Rivera often come across band projects of the vibraphone player and play alongside traditional literature also that of Brazilian Rhythmic and form influenced compositions Lackerschmids. That’s how they came to work with the Brazilian Trio, a congenial alliance with pianist Hélio Alves, drummer Duduka da Fonseca and bassist Nilson Matta.
With breathtaking runs, rhythmic patterns and the many timbres of the vibraphone, Wolfgang Lackerschmid and his trio enchanted the great audience. The perfect sound for the Brazilian feeling was provided by sound engineer Johannes Wohlleben.
