After his debut album” Inspiration ” 2018 immediately after its release at number one on the German iTunes classical Charts, Florian Christl subsequently delighted Fans of contemporary classical music in numerous concerts. His two tours through Germany and neighbouring countries are particularly noteworthy here. But especially his sold – out tour in Russia, which will be a double sequel in 2020 due to the overwhelming popularity of the audience in March and November. On the Album Release Tour in May 2020, Christl will present pieces of his new album “Episodes” to the German audience for the first time. The Album will be released on 08 May 2020 as well as his debut album with Sony Classical.
If the soulful melodies on ” Inspiration “still take the listener on a journey to the highs and lows of one’s own being, sometimes in the dress of filmic music, even that of a soundtrack, then” Episodes ” goes a significant step further. With this Album Florian Christl gives an insight into the world of his feelings. By Definition, an Episode is a short event within a larger event. And it is precisely these short events that inspire him when he sits down at his piano and simply allows his feelings and moods to manifest themselves in melodies. From deep melancholy to exuberant euphoria, the composer’s ever-present love of music is evident here.
Fourteen of these episodes can be found on “Episodes”: as on “Inspiration”, Florian Christl once again relies on the outstanding “the Modern String Quintet”, which once again impressively implements his melodies. In pieces such as” Melodie”,” Encore “or” Regen”, the musicians show both the gentle and powerful facets of violin, viola, Cello and double bass in combination with the sensitive and energetic Pianoforte. A total of seven compositions with the Ensemble can be heard on “Episodes”. Furthermore, Christl is supported by renowned soloists such as the internationally rising violinist Esther Abrami and the French Neoclassical interpreter Piano Novel as well as the cellist Gereon Theis.
The melodious and exciting arrangements of the strings but also the compositions for Solo Piano, the neoclassical use of synthesizers in the piece “Dreaming” and the taking up of themes of classical and Baroque composers such as Beethoven and Vivaldi show Christl’s musical development in the past two years.
